Here, you see a headboard become a display case. Doors and glass came from an old waterbed headboard. This piece will remain in our home, Joanie really likes it!

We took a discarded steel head and foot board set and created the bench above with the wooden seat. This is a very strong, heavy bench, which was delivered to our son and his wife in Iowa City. Enjoyed building this, although it was a time-consuming process, and plan on building more like it when donor materials are available.

Another bench made from a headboard/footboard set, it also makes use of wood from the top of a 90-plus year old upright piano we salvaged. Joanie is making a nice cushion for this bench. THIS PIECE HAS SOLD!!

Corner bench made from old headboard, this one is different in that the headboard material is a pressed cardboard stuff with wood posts, seat, trim and supporting framework are wood, painted with two coats of black and two coats of clear. This item has now been sold.

This steel bench was custom-built using the customer's old iron bed. It was finished to match the trim on the house, and even the seat height was to customer specs.

Joanie just finished this quilt, and it's already spoken for.

These white twin benches are now owned by LaVilla Restaurant on 3rd Street in Guthrie Center. I built them last year, one of them spent last summer/fall sitting outside of our barn shop, while the other one was inside our home. Brought them both to our store when we opened it, where they remained until they were bought by LaVilla. BTW.... LaVilla is a great place to eat!

Made this fire-ring grill rack last summer and used it when camping..... campground fire rings come in various sizes, this will accomodate all of them. On the large rings you can use two grills on this, great for cooking over firewood, and it collapses for easier storage. I will be making more of these, as well as a smaller version.

Finished the new, improved grill rack...... this one is much less cumbersome to handle, rails hook together for carrying. Going to modify the original one to hook together like this as well. Always coming up with better ways to do these things.

Just finished...... custom order bench, sitting in it's new home! Client supplied the bed frame and specified color and seat height.  These metal benches are my favorites to build.

Table runner Joanie just finished, displayed on the display case we made from an old headboard.

Here, kitty! Your stairs have been completed! Hopefully this will help the client's aged cats accomplish their mission..... climbing up on the bed!

Jenny Lind bench....... not haggling on this one. We like it so much that we will keep it in our store unless we can get $150 for it.

We also refinish furniture, these Cracker barrel rockers were in pretty rough shape when we started on them. Now they are weatherproofed with spar varnish.

Built this saddle rack for a client, using leftover scrap from other projects.

Just finished refinishing these two old tables for a client.

Refinished this old high chair for a client, finished with a clear coat for easy washability!

Refinished this dining room table and chair set for a client. Three coats of spar varnish on the top.

Client asked me to make her a sofa from an old door that was in her house, and she is having custom cushions made for it.

Completed this bench for our store window, but it is for sale as well, $200

Completed repairing and refinishing this very old table for a client.

A door was turned into a corner shelf. This one is not for sale, but I will build one for you!

Left, and above.... client who I built the door-into-sofa project for commissioned me to refinish her brass lamp to match her room decor, and this small end table to match the door-sofa and her room decor. She has a custom lamp shade ordered, as well as cushions for that sofa. Can't wait to see it all together.

This corner bench, which started out as a baby crib left on the curb in Des Moines, was constructed entirely from recycled materials, including the hinges on the seat that allow access to the storage area. Only thing not re-used was the screws! Price.... $200

Finished! This huge ISU Cyclone t-shirt quilt was made from shirts provided by the client. It got to hang from our ceiling (on the custom quilt hanger I make) for only a few hours when the client came to pick it up!

Old bureau refinished for a client. This is the second item I have refinished for this client.

Another bench custom-made for a client.

Another finished t-shirt quilt for a client.

Client will finish these herself, she brought stair posts in for me to make these candle holders and decorative pieces from.

Next three photos...... client brought in an old trunk that needed cleaned up, new straps on the sides, and she wanted the inside lined with something.... we chose aromatic cedar paneling for the inside.

Firepit made from two wheel rims, steel rods, T-post, and 20 old horseshoes. $150
